APPROACH TO LEARNING

Lessons in literary fiction

The idea here is to find books that match the needs and interests of each of my clients. I have an selection of excellent books, essays and short stories designed for a wide range of comprehension levels.

My library is rich in Spanish, as well as Latin American, authors — some are classic works of fiction, others recent prize winning texts. The idea is to find something that draws you so deep into the narrative that you lose sight of the challenge of it being written in a language less familiar.

Lessons in poetry & prose

Learning a language through poetry offers the valuable advantage of broadening your vocabulary, introducing you to unique idioms, expressions, and metaphors unique to Spanish. Reading poetry aloud can refine your pronunciation and improve your intonation. The rhythm and flow of poetry encourage careful attention to the sounds and patterns of the language, ultimately strengthening your pronunciation skills. Studying poetry also allows you to gain a richer understanding of the cultural context, helping you to engage with native speakers on a deeper level and appreciate the subtleties of the language.
